Australian Approved Name (AAN): Squid oil

Warnings and restrictions: Only for use in oral medicines. Must be obtained from species of the order Teuthida of the class Cephalopoda, be used in combination with other ingredients in the medicine and be presented in a therapeutic dosage form for therapeutic use.

Acceptance criteria for Squid oil (as triglycerides): Total omega-3 acids not less than 30.0 % w/w; EPA not less than 9.0 % w/w and DHA not less than 18.0 % w/w.

The medicine requires the following warning statement on the medicine label:
SFOOD – Derived from seafood.
